Practical information

The conference will take place in April 24-28, 2023 in Brittany in France, in the (small) city of Roscoff, where there is a beautiful CNRS conference center. Accommodation and meals will be taken at Hôtel Le Gulf Stream from the Sunday evening until Friday noon (except the meal on Sunday evening).

Coming by train from Paris: Morlaix is the closest station to Roscoff. From Paris-Montparnasse Station, direct and lasts 3 hours. From Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), lasts about 4 hours with a change in Rennes. Then, there are shuttles between Morlaix and Roscoff, 35 minutes. You can book your train and shuttle tickets at the same time on the SNCF website or on TrainLine (more user-friendly for non-French speakers). You just have to search for Paris-Roscoff and the search engine finds the correspondence with the shuttle. (You can also find the schedule of the shuttles here.)

Coming by plane: Brest-Guipavas (BES) is the closest airport to Roscoff. If you come from abroad you can land in Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and change planes for Brest-Guipavas (BES), it lasts l hour 15, or take the train/bus to Roscoff (see above). Then, from Brest you will need a taxi to go to Roscoff, about 50 minutes. Taxi sharing can be arranged. You can find taxi information here.

Return: For those who wish, the return to Paris can be made via the shuttle which leaves
Friday at 1:45 p.m. from Roscoff and arrives in Morlaix at 2:20 p.m., then taking the train which leaves Molraix at 2:46 p.m. and arrives at Paris Montparnasse station at 6:08 p.m.
OR : Friday at 4:50 p.m. from Roscoff and arrives in Morlaix at 5:25 p.m., then taking the train which leaves Molraix at 5:55 p.m. and arrives at Paris Montparnasse station at 9:08 p.m.

You will be accommodated in three different hotels: Hotel Gulf StreamHotel de France and Hotel d’Angleterre. Hotel de France and Hotel d’Angleterre are very close to the conference center, Hotel Gulf Stream is at a 15-minute walk.


Proposal for visits and leisure

  • The walk on the Ile de Batz is generally very popular with lecturers (10 mn sea crossing): you can stroll there and visit the Georges Delaselle garden.
  • The exotic garden of Roscoff is also to be discovered.
  • The bay of Morlaix with its castle of the bull can be visited by boat.
  • For walkers, there are very beautiful walks that follow the GR 34.
  • Roscoff has a thalassotherapy center, a casino, a nautical center.
  • A little further (7km) on the superb Dossen beach, there is the possibility of sand yatchting, surfing, paddle… Information here.
